The Sherline Manual 17-Inch Benchtop Lathe Package C (Metric) offers an extended center-to-center distance of 17 inches, providing machinists with additional space for handling larger projects compared to the standard 8-inch tabletop lathe. This increased capacity is particularly beneficial when using a combination of chucks and long drill bits, allowing for more versatile machining operations. The lathe is equipped with zero adjustable handwheels and a rocker toolpost, enhancing its value and functionality.

This benchtop lathe is capable of turning parts up to 3.5 inches in diameter over the bed and 1.88 inches over the carriage without the use of riser blocks. With optional riser blocks, it can accommodate parts up to 6 inches in diameter. The electronic speed control facilitates a continuously variable speed range from 70 to 2,800 RPM, eliminating the need for belt changes and offering a second pulley position for increased torque at lower speeds.
