The ServoCity Heavy-Duty Linear Servo (Position Control, 12-24V, 33lb Thrust, 1.7"/sec, 8" Stroke) is a sophisticated device engineered to respond to PWM signals, offering a seamless integration with various servo controllers without the need for additional tuning or wiring. This linear servo is equipped with an advanced internal circuit board capable of accepting PWM signals from a wide range of controllers, including wired and wireless systems, as well as microcontrollers like Arduino. Its closed-loop feedback system ensures precise control over the extension tube's position by continuously monitoring the current position via an internal potentiometer and adjusting the motor's power accordingly. The device is powered through a male XT30 connector requiring a 12V input with a minimum of 5A, and it conveniently supplies 5V to the servo controller, allowing both components to operate from a single power source. Constructed with metal for enhanced durability, the linear servo can replace pneumatic and hydraulic systems, providing efficient linear thrust through its ACME screw mechanism. This design enables the servo to withstand significant static loads without back-driving, even when power is removed. The servo can function in any orientation, delivering equal force in both pulling and pushing directions. The mounting clevis near the motor is fixed, while the one on the extension tube can be rotated to accommodate different application requirements.
