Raspberry Pi High-Precision AD/DA Expansion Board

There's no AD/DA function on the Raspberry Pi GPIO interface, this may trouble you in the Pi development. However, it won't be a problem anymore. The Raspberry Pi High-Precision AD/DA Expansion Board allows you to add high-precision AD/DA functions to the Raspberry Pi.

Good Hardware, Docs and S/W Lacking

The hardware worked as advertised *after* I spent several frustrating hours deciphering the schematics and writing my own Python drivers to talk to it. If the board came with solid docs and code, I would have given it a 5. If you're looking for Python interface code, I've open sourced mine which makes use of 2 other projects (one for the ADC, one for the DAC). https://github.com/makahn64/waveshare_a2d_d2a_python

Great Product, Great Service!

The product is original make, and arrived reasonable fast by regular mail. Nothing seems broken. Fits perfectly to raspberry pi. Haven't done actual testing yet, but I don't expect problems from its looks. Thanks guys!

A couple of glitches

The AtoD would shut down on my board after a minute or so of running. I found two problems. First, the board had resistors R14 (100R) and R17 (10K) swapped in position (goes to the /PDWN pin). Second, the provided example software for the ADS1256 does not initialize gpio header pin 13 (GPIO27) which is connected to the ADS1256 /PDWN pin. Pin 13 should be initialized to be an Output and set High, else the AtoD will shut down. When that happens, the ADS1256 example program will print something like "Error, ADS1256 Chip ID = 0x0, ADS156_WaitDRDY() Time Out ...

As described, fast shipping.

Nice board, didn't use it with a pi but with a Cypress PSOC 4.
