Description
Four DOF (degree of freedom) leg design for dynamic range motion
Perfect for adding weapons for local robot competition
Made with ultra-tough aluminum servo erector set brackets
Includes brackets, frame and hardware for 4DoF T-hex hexapod
Advanced development kit
The Lynxmotion T-Hex 4DOF Hexapod Robot Kit (Hardware Only) is made from ultra-tough high-quality aluminum servo erector set brackets. The T-Hex robot's body is Mech inspired. The use of offset brackets on the legs provides additional range of movement. The four DOF (degree of freedom) leg design means the robot can walk in any direction, just like the 3DOF version. But the 4th axis really expands the dynamic range of the robot's range of motion. The robot has been designed to use 24 HS-645 servos for the legs. This Mech inspired robot is perfect for adding weapons for your local robot competition.

Controlling the Robot By offloading the servo pulse generation and sequence movement timing to the SSC-32 the microcontroller has plenty of power to do some really cool things. The Phoenix program allows the robot to walk with variable speed, in any direction (translation), or turn in place (rotation), or any combination of the two. The leg lift and ride height is adjustable as well as the gait walking speed. You can rotate the body in every axis. All of these are accessible from the controller.
Note that this is NOT a toy but rather an advanced legged development platform. Mechanical assembly instructions are provided. but the user must select electronics and program the robot. The Phoenix code (compatible with Lynxmotion's BotBoarduino microcontroller + SSC-32 servo controller + PS2 remote control) can be adapted for use with this robot at the discretion of the user.
I'm using this pack to build a custom walker. I didn't want the kit with servos, as I wanted to be able to experiment with servos of different speed/torque. I also did not want an 8-bit operating system. The aluminum is a good alloy, the assembly screws are coated steel (even with "Ford" hands, I managed to do all the assembly without stripping any). Be wary of the packaging, there are a LOT of bearings and itty-bitties that can be lost. I'm currently using Savox standard sized servos, which are just slightly taller than the Hitec's, have 3X the torque (at 4X the price), and they fit pretty good (the height of the gearbox on top of the servo is significant or the ball bearing fit into the servo bracket isn't quite right). I ended up putting the servo horns on the opposite side of the bracket and it worked fine. It's a little pricey, but this is all the aluminium and screws for a good 4DOF hexapod base. I've seen (slightly) better brackets, but the quality of the materials makes up for a minor bit of design awkwardness.

The Product must then be returned in its original packaging (in perfect condition for resale) with its receipt and your (‘’RA’’) number. Reimbursement will be denied for any Products which do not conform to the above mentioned conditions.
Build-it-yourself Robot Parts are not refundable once assembled. Robots & Kits requiring assembly or soldering are also not refundable once assembled, soldered or modified in any way. All sales of robotic software and apps are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged. Returns are not accepted on special orders and clearance items except when they are found defective, in which case the Product may be repaired or replaced at the Vendor’s discretion. 20% Restocking fees may apply if you are returning a large quantity of the same Product that was ordered specifically for you from the manufacturer.
Please note that all items will be reimbursed within 7 to 14 days of receiving the Product (shipping fees excluded). You must also cover the cost of returning the Product. Shipping fees will only be refunded if the return is a result of a shipping error on our part. Cleaning fees of USD 100 may also be charged if a domestic robot is returned and has not been properly cleaned.
