The Lynxmotion SQ3U Symmetric Quadruped Walking Robot is a 3DOF per leg quadruped robot with a symmetric body design. The robot's symmetry makes this a very unique quadruped walker. The three DOF (degree of freedom) leg design provides the flexibility required to walk in any direction. The robot uses four HS-645MG servos along with four HS-422 servos. The combo kit includes everything you need to make a functional robot except batteries, charger and PS2 controller. This research level robot is perfect for college robotics labs and individuals looking to get started with creating code for quadruped robots.
The Mechanics The legs are made from ultra-tough, high-quality aluminum Servo Erector Set brackets and the body is made out of Lexan. The robot is 6'' high when standing (foot to top bracket without electronics) and 9.5'' wide (foot to foot).
Controlling the Robot The combo kit comes with the SSC-32 servo controller and the BotBoarduino microcontroller. By offloading the servo pulse generation and sequence movement timing to the SSC-32, the main board has plenty of power to do some really cool things. The basic PS2 code allows you to control the robot using a wireless (or wired) PS2 remote control.
Powering Options The robot needs one (1x) 4.8V to 6V battery (6V is preferable) and one (1x) 9V battery. If you prefer only having one power supply, you can purchase a voltage regulator. The following batteries and chargers are suggested (purchased separately).

The Lynxmotion SSC-32 Servo Controller board can be easily controlled with the new SSC-32 Servo Sequencer Utility. It is available as a free downloadable utility which makes it easy to experiment with robotics and animatronics. It can be found in the Useful Links section.
This utility is an example of the type of program which can be built using Lynxmotion FlowBotics Studio Graphical Programming Software (Download) , which includes this program as an open source demo project. The SSC-32 Servo Sequencer Utility program enables you to easily move servo motors, calibrate their position, store and playback motion sequences, upgrade the SSC-32 firmware and more.
If you are not satisfied for whatever reason with a Product you bought on the Site, it is possible to return it for refund within 30 days from the date you received it unless otherwise indicated in the Product listing. You must first advise the Vendor associated with your order in your account to obtain a return authorization (‘’RA’’) number before returning a Product. (‘’RA’’) numbers are valid for 30 days, within which time the returned Products should be received by the Vendor. No returns will be accepted without having previously obtained an (‘’RA’’) number. The Product must then be returned in its original packaging (in perfect condition for resale) with its receipt and your (‘’RA’’) number. Reimbursement will be denied for any Products which do not conform to the above mentioned conditions.
Build-it-yourself Robot Parts are not refundable once assembled. Robots & Kits requiring assembly or soldering are also not refundable once assembled, soldered or modified in any way. All sales of robotic software and apps are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged. Returns are not accepted on special orders and clearance items except when they are found defective, in which case the Product may be repaired or replaced at the Vendor’s discretion. 20% Restocking fees may apply if you are returning a large quantity of the same Product that was ordered specifically for you from the manufacturer.
Please note that all items will be reimbursed within 7 to 14 days of receiving the Product (shipping fees excluded). You must also cover the cost of returning the Product. Shipping fees will only be refunded if the return is a result of a shipping error on our part. Cleaning fees of USD 100 may also be charged if a domestic robot is returned and has not been properly cleaned.
