The DFRobot MODBUS-RTU RS485 Soil Moisture, Temperature & EC Sensor (IP68, 5-30V) facilitates the rapid acquisition of soil temperature, moisture, and electrical conductivity (EC) data, ensuring precise irrigation for optimal plant growth. It supports a wide voltage power supply range and communicates data via RS485 using the reliable MODBUS-RTU protocol. The sensor exhibits quick response times and delivers stable, reliable output, making it suitable for integration with an Arduino UNO R3 and a TTL to RS485 expansion board to efficiently create a test environment.
The sensor is designed with a protection level of IP68 and is vacuum-filled and sealed with black flame-retardant epoxy resin. The probe material is made of 316 stainless steel, which is rust-proof, waterproof, and resistant to corrosion, including salt-alkali corrosion and long-term electrolysis. It is small, can be buried in the soil for extended periods, and is suitable for various soil types. The sensor also features an automatic temperature compensation function for conductivity, ensuring measurement accuracy regardless of environmental changes.
This sensor is widely used in agricultural irrigation, greenhouses, flowers and vegetables, grassland and pastures, soil rapid testing, plant culture, scientific experiments, grain storage, and the measurement of moisture content and temperature of various particulate matter. Proper soil temperature promotes plant root growth and nutrient absorption, while appropriate soil moisture helps plant roots absorb water and nutrients, maintaining water balance within plant cells. Soil electrical conductivity (EC) indicates soil salinity, which affects plant water absorption and overall health. Understanding these parameters is crucial for ensuring plant health and achieving higher yields.

If you are not satisfied for whatever reason with a Product you bought on the Site, it is possible to return it for refund within 30 days from the date you received it unless otherwise indicated in the Product listing. You must first advise the Vendor associated with your order in your account to obtain a return authorization (‘’RA’’) number before returning a Product. (‘’RA’’) numbers are valid for 30 days, within which time the returned Products should be received by the Vendor. No returns will be accepted without having previously obtained an (‘’RA’’) number. The Product must then be returned in its original packaging (in perfect condition for resale) with its receipt and your (‘’RA’’) number. Reimbursement will be denied for any Products which do not conform to the above mentioned conditions.
Build-it-yourself Robot Parts are not refundable once assembled. Robots & Kits requiring assembly or soldering are also not refundable once assembled, soldered or modified in any way. All sales of robotic software and apps are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged. Returns are not accepted on special orders and clearance items except when they are found defective, in which case the Product may be repaired or replaced at the Vendor’s discretion. 20% Restocking fees may apply if you are returning a large quantity of the same Product that was ordered specifically for you from the manufacturer.
Please note that all items will be reimbursed within 7 to 14 days of receiving the Product (shipping fees excluded). You must also cover the cost of returning the Product. Shipping fees will only be refunded if the return is a result of a shipping error on our part. Cleaning fees of USD 100 may also be charged if a domestic robot is returned and has not been properly cleaned.
