Small, inexpensive tracked platform
Mounting for Arduino Uno or Raspberry Pi
Frame made out of laser-cut Lexan parts
No electronics version of Mini RobotShop Rover
Electronics sold separately
The Mini RobotShop Rover Chassis Kit is a small, inexpensive tracked platform onto which you can mount either an Arduino compatible microcontroller or a Raspberry Pi. The frame is made out of laser-cut Lexan parts, and the Tamiya Twin Motor Gear Box (must be assembled in configuration A) and Tamiya Track and Sprocket Kits are used for propulsion. Mounting hardware is included. There is a 30mm wide x 6mm high gap in the top support plate specifically for a RobotShop 3.7V, 1000mAh LiPo battery. Front mounting slots are for general use.
Note: The gearbox must be assembled in configuration A only.
When buying this product you need to understand that you'll get a lot of separate parts, which is basically parts for Tamiya gearbox and plastic parts for body. The guide, actually, describes pretty nicely how to assemble them, but you need to do it yourself, which was not clear to me. Couple of things to consider: the cover on plastic, which is described as "sticker" is pretty hard to remove without damaging body, but possible with modelling knife; edges on plastic body are very sharp, you need to be careful during assembly. But otherwise, parts fit nicely, delivery is fast and price is unbeatable.

Nice inexpensive tracked platform
I purchased this to build a small, inexpensive, and simple RC tank based on Arduino Nano. Overall, I'm satisfied with the result but not without some modifications. Basically you're buying Tamiya track wheels, Tamiya twin motor gearbox, and custom-cut platform with this kit. Below are couple recommendations: 1) platform size: It is really small as it was designed for small rechargeable lipo battery. I wish it was maybe 2mm wider so that I could fit 4 x AA battery on the platform without using 8mm hex pillars to raise the battery holder. 2) Stock motor is not suitable for TB6612FNG motor driver. I had to replace stock motors with high voltage/low current motors.
